It's storming heavily at the moment here in the 'Co, and the heavy rain always reminds me of the past. There's just something terribly nostalgic about rain for me. Maybe it's the fact that I always make a point to, where ever I am, just watch the rain when it falls. To not think about much else, and to just focus on the actions of the falling water. It's a time when you can look around and see that everything in your environment, for that moment at least, actually shares something obvious and concrete in common: it's all getting wet. It's simple, but for some reason it's pure beauty to me. Everything becomes just a bit darker in color when the water falls across the various surfaces. The rhythm of dripping water comes from all directions, making strange cadences and movements. The plants and tree limbs seem to dance under the impact of the rain, making for a somewhat humorous effect. After all, plants are horrible dancers, you know
So there you have it, something nice for a nice day. I'm going to go back to watching the puddles form
